09/16/2017: Message Regarding District Disaster Drill and Community Information Meetings

This is Dr. Shawn Judson, superintendent of the Etiwanda School District, with an important message regarding disaster preparedness and upcoming Community Information Meetings.

First, at 9:00 a.m., on the morning of Monday, September 18th, all district schools and facilities will be participating in a disaster preparedness drill. School offices will be closed for approximately one hour during the drill. The drill will include classroom evacuations as well as an opportunity for school sites to practice procedures to be prepared in the event of a major disaster.

Parents and guardians can assist the schools disaster preparedness efforts by ensuring that the school has current emergency contact information for their child. If you have any questions regarding disaster procedures at your child’s school, please contact your school office.

Next, I want to invite you to Community Information Meetings being held on the evenings of September 21st and 25th regarding the transition from an at-large method of electing members of the Board of Trustees to a By-Trustee Area election method. Community members can provide feedback on the proposed map scenarios by attending the meetings or on-line through the district website. Please visit Etiwanda.org for more information about the transition, the community information meetings, to view maps, and provide feedback.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
